Relax at the Hidden Jewell
The Hidden Jewell is located in Ironton, Minnesota, USA, 15 miles east of Brainerd, Minnesota, USA on the shores of beautiful and private Jewell Lake.
Jewell Lake is on the edge of the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area (CCSRA). Within the CCSRA there are 21 lakes, six are natural and 15 are former iron ore mines and making them Minnesota's newest lakes!
The mine pit lakes range are up to 525 feet in depth, all surrounded by 25 miles of undeveloped shoreline. With water clarity of up to 90 feet and submerged structures, these former iron ore mines are a sought-after haven for fishing, SCUBA diving, boating and water sports.
But that's not all... the over-burden from the mines has been piled high to form beautiful vistas and challenging trails for the hiker, climber, off-road cyclist, hunting and outdoor enthusiast.
